Howie Sturtz marathon to air on Marshfield Community Television

MARSHFIELD — With the Central Wisconsin State Fair less than a month away, Marshfield Community Television is featuring a TV marathon of “Howie Sturtz at the Central Wisconsin State Fair” on Thursday, Aug. 27, starting at noon.
The big band sound of Howie Sturtz has been filling the air across Wisconsin since 1946, and he has been a long-running feature at the fair. He draws crowds of followers traveling from all over central Wisconsin to spend the afternoon tapping their feet to his tunes. The show is recorded and aired on MCTV channel 989.
In a preview interview with host Mike Warren, Sturtz said this year’s performance at the fair will be his last. He chides Warren that he has been saying it will be his final show for the last 30 years, but in all sincerity, this is the final one. His final performance will be on the Grandstand at the Central Wisconsin State Fair, Thursday, Sept. 3.
In honor of his last show, Marshfield Community Television will air his 2012, 2013, and 2014 concerts consecutively starting at noon on Thursday, Aug. 27, followed by his interview at the MCTV studio.
Tune in to watch this memorial event on Charter Cable Channel 989. The shows will also be available online. To view them online, visit marshfieldtv.com.
