MARSHFIELD — The mission of the Marshfield Area Community Foundation is to “connect people who care with causes that matter to enrich the quality of life in the Marshfield area.”

The foundation responds to needs in the community through Community Grants, Senior Grants, and the Women’s Giving Circle. Marshfield Area Community Foundation has given back over $4.6 million to the community since its inception.

This year 12 groups submitted grant requests, asking for $38,635 in funding. Our Board of Trustees has voted to fund the following projects with the Community, Senior, and Women’s Giving Circle grants programs:

—Neillsville Community Players: $500 Missoula Children’s Theatre.

—Hannah Center: $834 for new windows.

—Friends of the Mead/McMillian Marsh Assoc. Inc.: $500 to support Spooktacular Family Event.

—Respite Care Center: $1,000 for computer replacement.

—Chestnut Center for the Arts: $2,000 to help purchase air conditioning.

—Marilyn Hardacre Park: $3,000 to help build the park.

Marshfield Area Community Foundation has committed $7,834 in assistance to the above groups. For more information about the community foundation and the projects it supports, visit marshfieldareacommunityfoundation.org.
