DAY – A 39-year-old male was in critical condition Monday night after his southbound sedan crossed the center line on County Road M and collided with a northbound garbage truck. The crash occurred in the town of Day south of Maple Street.  The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office received report of the crash at 3:25 p.m. yesterday, according to a release from the department.

The 53-year-old driver of the garbage truck was treated for non life-threatening injuries. Both drivers in the crash were the sole occupants of their respective vehicles, according to the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office.

It is not known at this time what caused the 39-year-old to cross the center line. Marathon County Sheriff’s Deputies, The Marathon County Crash Reconstruction Team, Stratford EMS, and Marshfield EMS responded to the scene.
