MARSHFIELD — On Friday, July 24, Central Avenue will be closed from Veterans Parkway to Fourth Street beginning at 5 p.m.

On Saturday, July 25, starting at 6 a.m. there will be an additional closure of Central Avenue from Fourth Street to Seventh Street. Central Avenue will be closed from Veterans Parkway to Seventh Street until 11 p.m. Fourth Street will remain open to cross traffic.

The Central Avenue closure is to allow for Main Street Marshfield’s Hub City Days event.

If there are any questions on the closure of Central Avenue, contact the street division at 715-486-2081.

Fourth Street: Central Avenue to Maple Avenue, Vine Avenue: CN Railroad crossing north of Veterans Parkway

On Monday, July 27, at 7 a.m., Earth Inc. will begin the reconstruction of the intersection of Fourth Street and Maple Avenue as part of the 2015 Maple Avenue Project. Access to the Omaha parking lot will be maintained from Fourth Street until Third Street can be reopened. The reopening of Third Street is expected to occur within one week. When Third Street access to the Omaha lot is available, the remaining portion of Fourth Street between Central Avenue and Maple Avenue will be closed to traffic.

Also starting Monday, July 27, at 7 a.m., Canadian National Railroad will begin a reconstruction project to replace the rail and upgrade the track crossing on Vine Avenue north of Veterans Parkway. This will include replacement of ties, rails, crossing material, and placement of new asphalt. This work is anticipated to take approximately one week.

There will be no detour posted for either road closure.

If there are questions concerning the Vine Avenue or Fourth Street closures or other traffic control matters within the city, contact the engineering division at 715-486-2034.
