MARATHON COUNTY—Authorities have released the name of a 94-year-old man who was killed yesterday in a three-car crash at the intersection of Highway 97 and Blackberry Road.

Earl Ellenbecker of Stratford drove his vehicle into the intersection of Blackberry Road and Highway 97 where he was struck by a northbound vehicle, according to information released on the Marathon County Sherriff’s Office Facebook page. That initial collision pushed Ellenbecker’s vehicle into the southbound lane where his vehicle was struck by a milk truck.

Ellenbecker was pronounced dead at the scene by the Marathon County Medical Examiner’s Office. The driver of the northbound vehicle, 60-year-old Susan Kann from Edgar, sustained non life-threatening injuries but was transported to Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield for treatment, according to the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office . The driver of the milk truck was not injured.

All three drivers in the accident were the lone occupants of their respective vehicles. The accident remains under investigation.
