WAUSAU — The Marshfield Clinic Post 54 Senior American Legion baseball team halted a short two-game losing skid with a resounding 14-2 win over Wausau on Thursday at Athletic Park.

Sam Neville had four hits and four RBIs to lead the offensive onslaught for the Blue Devils, who finish their regular-season schedule with a 20-6 overall record and a 9-3 mark in the Wisconsin Valley Legion League.

Logan Johnson had three hits, and Nolan Matson and Mitch Susa each had two hits and four RBIs for Marshfield.

Bobby Pilz earned the win on the mound.

Marshfield is off until it begins Class AAA regional action on Tuesday at Bukolt Park in Stevens Point. The Blue Devils will play Wisconsin Rapids in their first-round matchup. The double-elimination tournament — with a berth in the state Class AAA tournament in Watertown on the line — will continue through Friday, July 24.
