WISCONSIN RAPIDS — Daulton Varsho, a 2014 Marshfield High School graduate and sophomore-to-be on the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee baseball team, has been selected to represent the North Team at the 2015 Northwoods League All-Star Game on July 21 at Witter Field in Wisconsin Rapids.

Varsho, a catcher for the Eau Claire Express, is batting .292 (50-for-171) with eight doubles, six triples (tied for the league lead), three home runs, 25 runs scored, 15 stolen bases, and 25 RBIs in 44 games. Varsho hit .238 (39-for-164) with nine doubles, four triples, five home runs, and 34 RBIs in 51 games for UW-Milwaukee this past season.

The Express was 5-9 through games on Tuesday in the second half North Division standings after finishing the first half with a 13-21 record.

Gates open at 4:30 p.m. on game day with a pregame autograph session to follow. The Marshfield Clinic Home Run Challenge will begin at 5:05 p.m., and the All-Star Game is slated to start at 7:05 p.m. A fireworks show will follow after the game.
