WISCONSIN RAPIDS — The Marshfield Clinic Post 54 Senior American Legion baseball team put up 13 runs in the fourth and fifth innings to blow past Wisconsin Rapids 16-0 in a Wisconsin Valley Legion League matchup Wednesday night at Witter Field.

Marshfield led 3-0 before ripping off eight runs in the fourth and scoring five more in the fifth to put an early end to the game, which ended in seven innings due to the 10-run rule.

Bobby Pilz threw just 44 pitches in five shutout innings to earn the win for the Blue Devils, improving to 5-0 this summer. Pilz struck out two and allowed just two hits.

Shane Coker and Nolan Matson each went 4-for-5 with Matson driving in five runs. Mitch Susa added two hits and three RBIs, and Neal Matson and Trevor Schwecke also had two hits each for the Blue Devils.

Marshfield (15-3) plays Everest on Thursday at home at 7 p.m.
