MARSHFIELD — Sam Neville tossed a five-hit shutout as the Marshfield Clinic Post 54 Senior American Legion baseball team rolled to a 10-0 win over Wausau on Tuesday night at Jack Hackman Field.

The Blue Devils (14-3 overall) scored once in the first inning and put the game away with a six-run third. Marshfield finished off the game via the 10-run rule with three runs in the bottom of the seventh.

Neville struck out one, did not walk a batter, and earned the win.

Marshfield had 12 hits — all singles — in the victory. Nolan Matson went 3-for-4 with an RBI, and Bobby Pilz was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Blue Devils.

Marshfield’s next game is Wednesday at Wisconsin Rapids. The game, at Witter Field, will start at 7 p.m. The Blue Devils host D.C. Everest at 7 p.m. Thursday at Hackman Field.
