Marshfield Chaparrals shut out Wausau, move to 4-0

Spaeth earned win with seven scoreless innings

MARSHFIELD — Drew Spaeth and Eric Pritzl combined on a shutout as the Marshfield Chaparrals baseball team improved to 4-0 with a 4-0 win over the Wausau Riverhawks on Wednesday at Jack Hackman Field.
Spaeth earned the win, striking out six and allowing eight hits and three walks. Pritzl struck out one in two innings to preserve the shutout for the Chaps.
Sam Schwanebeck and Lucious Messerschmidt each went 2-for-4 for Marshfield.
The Chaparrals played at Waupaca on Friday and have a doubleheader at Coon Valley on Saturday.
