11-year-old boy shot in town of Reid, suffers nonlife threatening injuries

The Marathon County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate a shooting that occurred in the township of Reid on June 10, 2015.
On Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at 12:01 p.m., the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department, Hatley Fire and Ambulance, Aspirus Critical Care Transport, Aspirus Medevac Helicopter, and the Wisconsin DNR were summoned to a residence in the township of Reid for an 11-year-old male that was shot in the face. He was flown to Saint Joseph’s Hospital pediatric trauma unit, where he remains hospitalized in stable condition with nonlife threatening injuries.
The 11-year-old male was shot with a .22 caliber revolver. The shooter was a 15-year-old male. The victim and shooter are related. There is no danger to the public.
Marathon County Sheriff’s Department detectives continue to work with the Marathon County District Attorney’s Office on this case. No charges have been filed at this time.
