Marathon blanks Stratford in WIAA Division 3 softball regional semifinal

Tigers end season with 20-6 record

STRATFORD — Bria Jahnke limited Stratford to four hits as Marathon blanked Stratford 5-0 in a WIAA Division 3 softball regional semifinal on Thursday.

Spencer (21-3) will host Marathon (17-5) in a regional final on Friday at 5 p.m. Spencer beat Loyal/Granton 3-0 on Thursday. The Rockets beat Marathon earlier this season at the Gilman Slamfest.

Emily Kind was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI for the Raiders.

Kiana Weiler took the loss for the Tigers (20-6), giving up 11 hits and two earned runs.

Marathon scored a run in the first inning, added three in the fourth and another in the fifth.
