Auburndale, Columbus Catholic bounced from WIAA softball playoffs

Apaches lose at Loyal/Granton; Dons fall at Greenwood

The Auburndale and Marshfield Columbus Catholic softball teams were eliminated from the postseason after dropping WIAA regional quarterfinals on Wednesday.

Auburndale lost a Division 3 regional quarterfinal 10-1 to Loyal/Granton at Loyal, and Columbus Catholic fell 13-2 at Greenwood in a Division 4 regional quarterfinal.

Auburndale ends its season with a 6-15 record. Columbus Catholic finishes 3-14.

Game statistics for both games were not provided.

Loyal/Granton (10-7) will play a Division 3 regional semifinal at Spencer while Greenwood (10-11) moves into a Division 4 regional semifinal at Thorp. Both games are at 5 p.m. Thursday.
