MARSHFIELD — Marshfield Clinic, Healthy Lifestyles–Marshfield Area Coalition, and local businesses have teamed up to offer the sixth annual Bicycle Discount Program, which runs from June 1 to Aug. 31.

The program offers discounted or free items to individuals who ride their bikes to participating businesses.

In a community the size of Marshfield, many parts of the city can be accessed by bicycle in 20 minutes or less. Program organizers hope the discounts and free items offered by local businesses will motivate Marshfield residents to choose bicycling for trips they may otherwise take by car.

To receive the Bicycle Discount Program incentive, bikers present their helmet and discount card at the business. Discount cards can be picked up at the Mayor’s Breakfast on May 29; at Marshfield Clinic Center for Community Outreach, 1701 N. Fig Ave.; or at any participating business.

Participating businesses include:

—2½ Cups Cupcakery & Bake Shop.

—Arby’s.

—Bakerville Sports Bar and Grill.

—BIGGBY Coffee.

—Blue Heron Brewpub.

—Baltus Bread & Butter Shop.

—China Chef.

—Chips.

—Culver’s.

—Dairy Queen.

—Dunham’s Sports.

—Dunkin’ Donuts.

—Hub City Ice Cream Company.

—JJ’s Bakery.

—Marshfield Public Library.

—McDonald’s.

—Melody Gardens.

—Perkin’s Restaurant and Bakery.

—Pick ‘n Save.

—Rose Bowl Lanes.

—Scotty’s Pizza.

—Sports Den.

—Taco John’s.

—Tropical Smoothie.

—Victory Apparel.

—Wenzel’s Farm Sausage.

The discount card includes a list of participating businesses and what is offered at each business. There is a limit of one discount per business per day.

For a chance to win a grand prize, visit 15 of the 26 businesses during the program, complete the back side of the discount card with your name and phone number, and turn it in to Marshfield Clinic Center for Community Outreach by Sept. 8. For more information call 715-221-8400.
