MARSHFIELD — Sam Klein hit a home run, drove in four, and tossed a shutout inning of relief to lift the Marshfield baseball team to a 13-5 win over D.C. Everest on Tuesday at Jack Hackman Field.

The Tigers won for the seventh time in a row and improve to 14-7 overall and 5-4 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference. Everest is now 7-12 and 5-4 in the conference.

Marshfield scored in all six innings it batted and never trailed.

Jake Brueggen allowed two runs in five innings to earn the victory for the Tigers.

Marshfield had 13 hits, three each from Trevor Schwecke and Jack Donahue. Schwecke had a triple and drove in three runs. Matt Meyer, Sam Klein, and Jared Klein added two hits apiece for Marshfield.

“The kids are having fun,” Marshfield coach Mark Zee said. “We are getting some good pitcher performances, and we continue to play good defense.”

Marshfield plays at D.C. Everest on Thursday.
