Neumann, Luepke combine on one-hitter for Rockets

By Paul Lecker

Sports Reporter

SPENCER — Nate Neumann allowed just one hit in four innings, and three players had a pair of hits as the Spencer baseball team rolled to a 10-0 win over Gilman in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division baseball game Monday at Spencer High School.

The Rockets won their 13th-straight game and improved to 17-2 overall and 13-1 in the Cloverbelt East.

Neumann struck out three and walked just one to earn the win.

Hunter Hildebrandt, Hunter Luepke, and Jake Meyers each had two hits for the Rockets. Luepke, Bobby Pilz, and Ryan Busse had two RBIs apiece.

Spencer hosts undefeated Neillsville on Tuesday. With a win, the Rockets would be in position to tie for the conference title with Neillsville. Spencer finishes its conference schedule at home against Colby on Thursday while Neillsville hosts Greenwood.
