MARATHON — Auburndale had the Marawood Conference South Division-leading Marathon baseball team on the ropes, but the Raiders were able to score a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to pull out a 5-4 victory on Friday.
Auburndale tied the game 4-4 with a run in the sixth inning and two more in the seventh, but the Raiders were able to scratch out a run in the bottom of the inning to win it and clinch at least a tie for their seventh-straight Marawood South championship.
Aaron Willfahrt had three hits, including a double, and drove in a run, and Cooper Krings hit a home run for the Apaches (5-9, 4-6 Marawood South).
Auburndale hosts Loyal and Amherst in its home tournament on Saturday.
