Rockets extend win streak to 12

By Paul Lecker

Sports Reporter

SPENCER — Calvin Lenz tossed a four-hit shutout as the Spencer baseball team won for the 12th-straight time, beating Loyal 5-0 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Friday at Spencer High School.

Lenz struck out five and walked three, improving to 4-1 this season.

Spencer scored three times in the third and twice in the sixth to provide Lenz with more than enough support.

Bobby Pilz was 2-for-3 with a double to lead the Rockets’ offense.

Spencer (16-2, 12-1 Cloverbelt East) hosts Gilman on Monday.
