Auburndale softball falls at Marawood South-leading Marathon

Hannah Bolder hits home run for Apaches’ lone run

MARATHON — Marathon scored eight times in the first inning and added seven more in the third to beat Auburndale 16-1 in a Marawood Conference South Division softball game Friday.
Auburndale (5-13, 2-9 Marawood South) was limited to six hits in the loss. Hannah Bolder hit a home run in the fourth inning for the Apaches’ lone run and finished with two hits.
Auburndale will host Amherst, Loyal/Granton, and Nekoosa for its home tournament on Saturday and will finish its Marawood South schedule Monday at home against Northland Lutheran.
Marathon remains undefeated in the conference, improving 9-0 in the Marawood South and 14-4 overall.
