OWEN — The Spencer baseball team won the conclusion of a suspended game and whipped Owen-Withee in the regularly-scheduled contest to run its win streak to 11 games on Thursday.

The Rockets won the first game 7-6 in 10 innings and concluded the sweep with a 14-4 victory. Spencer is now 15-2 overall and 11-1 in the Cloverbelt Conference East Division. Owen-Withee drops to 5-7-1 overall and 5-7 in the conference.

In the first game, which was suspended due to darkness on April 24 with the score tied at 6-6 after nine innings, Spencer ended it early with a run in the bottom of the 10th.

Calvin Lenz was hit by a pitch, Bobby Pilz doubled, and Mitch Susa had an RBI single to score Lenz with the winning run.

Pilz tossed a scoreless inning to earn the win and finished with 10 strikeouts overall in the game.

Pilz, Jake Meyers, Lenz, Susa and Jonny Tomke each had two hits in the second game for the Rockets.

With the score tied 4-4 after four innings, Spencer scored eight times in the top of the fifth and added two more in the sixth to forge ahead.

Susa earned the win with two innings of scoreless relief.

Spencer hosts Loyal on Friday.
