Thursday, May 7
Man taken into custody on DOC warrant
Police took a 25-year-old Marshfield man into custody at 9:59 a.m. for a valid Department of Corrections warrant for a probation violation. Officers brought the man to the Marshfield Police Department for booking procedures and later transported him to Wood County Jail.
Friday, May 8
Business’ delivered package taken
A business owner reported that between 10:03 a.m. on April 27 and 9:45 a.m. on April 28 someone took a package that had been delivered to her business on S. Central Ave. The package had been left outside the business by the U.S. Postal Service. There are no suspects at this time.
Vehicle stolen on Cherry Avenue
A 33-year-old Marshfield man reported at 5:35 p.m. that his vehicle had been taken without his consent between 6 a.m. and 12 p.m. on the 2900 block of S. Cherry Ave. The man provided the name of a suspect, and the vehicle was found in Wittenberg. Arrangements were made for the man to pick up his vehicle.
Police contacted the business owner who had surveillance footage of the area, and footage will be obtained at a later date. The man filled out and signed a stolen vehicle report form. Investigation will continue.
Saturday, May 9
Marshfield officer assists Dunn County deputy
At 2:55 a.m. a Dunn County deputy requested assistance at the Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital emergency room. The deputy requested to have photographs taken of a 5-year-old Elk Mound girl who was reportedly a victim of child abuse.
An officer met with the child and her mother and took several pictures. The pictures were sent to the deputy.
Marshfield police assist Marathon County Sheriff’s Office
At 5:56 a.m. Marshfield officers were requested to the intersection of West Mann Road and Meadow Lane in reference to a vehicle in the ditch with an individual still in the driver’s seat. A Marathon County deputy was en route but coming from Athens.
Upon Marshfield officer arrival, the vehicle was not running, and the individual in the driver’s seat—the only occupant—was woken up to verify that he was not injured. The individual was asked to step out of the vehicle, and he was unsteady on his feet with glassy, bloodshot eyes. The individual was identified as a 29-year-old Marshfield man and was turned over to the Marathon County deputy upon her arrival.
Marshfield man violates probation, taken into custody
Police took a 22-year-old Marshfield man into custody on the 400 block of N. Central Ave. on a probation hold for violating his no-drink condition. The man was transported to the Marshfield Police Department for booking procedures and later to Wood County Jail.
Sunday, May 10
Vehicle fire extinguished on Upham Street
Police responded at 2:22 p.m. to a report of a vehicle fire on the 500 block of W. Upham St. Smoke had been observed coming from the cab of the vehicle.
Marshfield Fire and Rescue arrived and extinguished the fire. The vehicle fire was investigated by Marshfield Fire and Rescue and also turned over to the detective bureau for investigation.
Man contacts woman he is not supposed to, charged with bail jumping
A 25-year-old Marshfield woman reported observing a 25-year-old Marshfield man at her workplace at 3 p.m., and according to a Wood County case, the man is not supposed to have contact with the woman. The man made eye contact with the woman and then left.
Attempting contact with the man was unsuccessful. A probable cause form and request for bail jumping charges were completed.
Glass table shattered during domestic dispute, man arrested
A 29-year-old man and 29-year-old woman who live together were involved in argument at 10:20 p.m. that escalated to the point that the man flipped over the woman’s glass coffee table and shattered it. The woman did not give the man permission to break the table, and his actions caused her to fear for her safety and the safety of the three children who were present.
During the contact it was learned the man was on probation, and a hold was placed on him. Charges of domestic disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property are being requested through the Wood County district attorney’s office.
Monday, May 11
Man with valid warrant arrested for disorderly conduct
Police responded at 1:22 a.m. to a report of a domestic dispute between a 25-year-old Marshfield man and 25-year-old Marshfield woman. After investigation, the man was placed under arrest for domestic disorderly conduct. It was also found out through dispatch that the man had a valid Marathon County warrant.
The man was transported to the Marshfield Police Department for booking procedures and then to Wood County Jail. A request for charges will be submitted.
Abbotsford woman taken into custody for domestic abuse – battery
Police responded at 9 p.m. to a report of a domestic abuse altercation. After investigating the incident, officers took a 21-year-old Abbotsford woman into custody for domestic abuse – battery. The woman was transported to Wood County Jail after she was unable to post the required bond.
Tuesday, May 12
Woman arrested for violating injunction
Between 9 and 11 a.m., a 34-year-old Marshfield woman violated a court-ordered injunction by having contact with a 41-year-old Marshfield woman at her place of employment. The 34-year-old was also out on bond through Marathon County.
Police arrested, booked, and transported the 34-year-old to Wood County Jail. Charges are being requested through the Wood County DA’s office.
