Auburndale baseball brings out the bats in win over Assumption

Apaches rip 15 hits in road win

WISCONSIN RAPIDS — Auburndale scored six times in the second inning and added six runs over the final two innings to pull past Wisconsin Rapids Assumption 15-9 in a wild Marawood Conference South Division baseball game Friday at Witter Field.
All 10 Apaches that batted had at least one hit as they pounded out 15 in all. Wyatt Weiler was 4-for-5 with two RBIs and three runs scored, and Cody Steins added two hits and three RBIs for Auburndale (4-6, 3-4 Marawood South).
Cooper Krings picked up the win, allowing six runs and six hits in 4 2/3 innings. He also struck out six, walked six, and added a double and two RBIs at the plate for Auburndale.
Weiler threw 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief and got the Apaches out of a jam in the sixth.
Auburndale returns to action Tuesday when it hosts Pittsville.
