Assumption rallies with five runs in seventh to beat Auburndale softball

Jenna Ertl belts home run, drives in three for Apaches

WISCONSIN RAPIDS — Wisconsin Rapids Assumption rallied with five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to upend Auburndale 10-9 in a Marawood Conference South Division softball game Friday.
Auburndale led 7-2 after four innings and 9-5 after scoring a run in the top of the seventh but could not hang on and dropped its third game in a row.
Auburndale is now 2-8 overall and 2-6 in the conference while Assumption improves to 7-4 and 6-3 in the Marawood South.
Jenna Ertl was 3-for-3 with a home run, three runs scored, and three RBIs for Auburndale, which had five doubles in the game.
Auburndale’s next game is Tuesday at home against Pittsville.
