Tigers fall to 2-5 in Valley

By Paul Lecker

Sports Reporter

WAUSAU — Wausau West took advantage of a strong wind with a pair of penalty kicks in the first half and held off Marshfield 2-1 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference girls soccer game Thursday.

Jessy Wiskofske scored both of the penalty kicks for West as a result of handballs called on the Tigers.

Olivia Haessly had Marshfield’s only goal, coming with just 2:56 remaining in the game.

Marshfield (4-8-1, 2-5 Wisconsin Valley Conference) plays at the Rhinelander Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
