Stratford softball slugs past Auburndale

Bredemann, Geiger hit home runs for Tigers

AUBURNDALE — Kaylee Geiger and Brittany Bredemann each smacked home runs, and Stratford pounded out 11 hits on its way to a 14-2 win over Auburndale on Thursday at Auburndale High School.

Bredemann had a double and a homer, drove in three runs, and scored three times, and Geiger added a single along with her home run and drove in four for the Tigers (14-3, 8-1 Marawood South).

Lorrie Luepke and Sammy Griesbach each added two hits, and Griesbach scored three runs for Stratford.

Luepke earned the win on the mound, striking out two and walking none in five innings.

Hannah Bolder had a double and two RBIs for Auburndale (2-7, 2-5 Marawood South).

Auburndale plays at Wisconsin Rapids Assumption on Friday. Stratford is back in action Saturday at the Gilman Tournament.
