Newman Catholic scores early, knocks off Auburndale softball

Apaches drop to 2-6 this season

WAUSAU — Wausau Newman Catholic scored six runs in the first two innings and topped Auburndale 7-2 in a Marawood Conference South Division softball game Tuesday at Sunnyvale Park.
Newman (3-4 overall and Marawood South) scored four times in the first inning and added two more in the second to cruise to the victory.
Auburndale is now 2-6 overall and 2-4 in the conference.
Brooke Anderson had two hits and an RBI to lead the Apaches’ offense.
Auburndale hosts Stratford on Thursday.
