SPENCER – The Spencer softball team pushed its winning streak to 10 straight with a doubleheader sweep of Pittsville in nonconference action Saturday at Spencer High School.
The Rockets won 15-0 and 11-1 to improve to 10-2 this season. Pittsville is now 1-8.
Macie Weber allowed just one hit and one walk while striking out 13 in five innings of the 15-0 win.
Brooke Kettleborough had three hits, including a home run, and drove in three, and Weber also smacked a homer, added a double and two RBIs for the Rockets.
In the 11-1 win, Marisa Johnson gave up two hits and one walk in five innings to grab the win. She also added a home run and two RBIs.
Kettleborough tallied three more hits, including another home run, and Mandie Schultz, Kallie Reckner and Cinnamin Harwood each had two RBIs for the Rockets.
“Right now our entire line up is seeing the ball well and making great decisions at the plate,” Spencer coach Jason Gorst said. “Both pitchers were spot on with location today for us. I am extremely impressed with our defense this season.”
