MARSHFIELD — With the recent retirement of Ed Englehart, the city of Marshfield has been in the process of searching for a new parks and recreation director. After narrowing the field of candidates and conducting interviews on April 13, the city selected Justin Casperson as its new parks and recreation director. The Marshfield Common Council approved his appointment Tuesday night.

Casperson is currently the parks and recreation director in Germantown. He attended college at UW-La Crosse, where he majored in recreation management.

“I’ll also add that Justin is a native of the city of Marshfield,” said Mayor Chris Meyer at Tuesday’s common council meeting.

He will start in Marshfield on June 8, said City Administrator Steve Barg at Tuesday’s meeting.
