Columbus Catholic baseball rallies to top Owen-Withee

OWEN — The Marshfield Columbus Catholic baseball team rallied with four runs in the top of the seventh inning to defeat Owen-Withee 10-9 in a wild Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Tuesday.
Columbus led 5-0 after 1 ½ innings before O-W tied it up with a five-run second.
After the Dons regained the lead with a run in the fourth, Owen-Withee scored a pair of runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to grab a 9-6 advantage.
Columbus responded with a four-run seventh, and Jeremy Binder held the Blackhawks scoreless in the bottom of the inning to preserve the victory. Binder struck out six and did not walk a batter.
Billy Young and Tyler Fuerlinger each went 3-for-5. Young drove in four runs, and Fuerlinger finished with three RBIs for Columbus (3-2 overall and Cloverbelt East). Matthias Gouin added a pair of singles for the Dons.
The Dons host Loyal on Thursday at Jack Hackman Field.
