LOYAL — Bobby Pilz pitched and hit the Spencer baseball team to victory Tuesday.

The Rockets junior threw a complete-game two-hitter and ripped a two-run homer for the game’s only runs in a 2-0 victory over Loyal.

Pilz walked eight but was able to get out of jams by giving up just two hits and by striking out seven. His home run came with two outs in the third inning against Loyal pitcher Trevor Witt.

Spencer plays at Colby at 5 p.m. Thursday.
