Spencer scores three in sixth inning to top Greenwood

SPENCER — Bobby Pilz smacked a two-run double in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a tie and life the Spencer baseball team to a 5-2 win over Greenwood in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Friday at Spencer High School.
The game was tied 2-2 until Pilz’s big hit in the sixth. Mitch Susa followed with an RBI single to provide the final run, and then shut down Greenwood in the seventh to finish off the victory.
Pilz struck out four in 5 2/3 innings before Susa entered and ended up earning the win. Susa had two strikeouts.
Spencer (3-1 overall, 1-0 Cloverbelt East) plays at Neillsville on Monday.
