EDGAR — Stratford swept the team titles at a five-team Marawood Conference track and field meet Monday at Edgar High School.

The Stratford boys won with 133 points, and the girls took first with 111 points. Auburndale was second in both the boys and girls standings.

The Stratford boys had just two winners but a number of top-three finishes to accumulate the points needed to win the team title.

John Geissinger had both of the Tigers’ wins, taking first in the 800 meters (2:24.83) and the pole vault (10 feet, 6 inches). He also took second in the 1,600 (5:11.55).

The Auburndale boys had four first-place finishes, two from Lee Jepsen.

Jepsen won the 100 (11.59) and the long jump (17-8). He also took second in the 200 (24.10).

Carvey Empey won the 400 in 57.74, and Matt Lang won the shot put (43-10) and was second in the discus (115-9) for the Apaches.

The Stratford girls had six first-place finishes: Johnelle Miner in the 3,200 (12:58.55); Ingrind Bender in the high jump (4-10); Brianna LaSee in the long jump (13-9); Brooklyn Zawislan in the triple jump (30-11.25); Heather Greenberg in the shot put (33-2.5); and the 1,600 relay team of Emily Hauke, LaSee, Bender and Keyrra Dahl (4:33.03).

The Auburndale girls captured five events, two by Katie Leick.

Leick won the 800 (2:47.78) and the 1,600 (6:07.83). Also winning for the Apaches were Ashley Breu in the 200 (29.71); Hayley Weister in the pole vault (6-6); and the 3,200 relay team of Abby Bauer, Hannah Dorshorst, Kali Karl, and Leick (11:50.55).

Both Stratford and Auburndale will compete at Pittsville on April 21.
