Altrusa Club donates to Marshfield Public Library
MARSHFIELD — The Altrusa Club of Marshfield presented the Marshfield Public Library with a donation of $1,265 on Friday, April 10. The money was generated via the club’s annual Holiday Home Tour and was designated for the three following projects:
Battle of the Books: This program is designed by school systems to promote a love of reading among students and lead to greater reading comprehension. Funds raised provide sufficient books allowing for increased student participation.
1000 Books by Kindergarten: This is a free program for families with children from birth through age 5. Participants choose books or tapes and read or listen with their young children.
ABC Computer and Technology Classes: This program is designed for people who need to become more computer literate to remain in or re-enter the workforce. The program is free and offers training in basic word processing, computer organization, and file management.
