Stratford softball routs Northland Lutheran behind Lorrie Luepke no-hitter

STRATFORD — Lorrie Luepke tossed a five-inning no-hitter as the Stratford softball team improved to 2-0 with a 15-0 victory over Northland Lutheran in the Marawood Conference South Division opener for both teams Tuesday.

Stratford scored three runs in both the first and second innings and then blew the game open with an eight-run third.

Luepke struck out 10 and walked one in the no-hitter for the Tigers. She also had a single and three RBIs at the plate.

Stratford pounded out nine hits and used seven walks to put up 15 runs.

Brittany Bredeman was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored to the lead the way for the Tigers. Casey Kolbeck had a triple and two RBIs, and Alexis Hofmann added a double and three RBIs for Stratford.

Stratford plays at Wausau Newman Catholic on Friday.
