Marshfield Bantam hockey team is state runner-up

WAUPUN — The Marshfield Bantam hockey team played in the WAHA 3A Divisional State Championships March 14-15 in Waupun.
Marshfield won their first game against River Falls in 5-4 in overtime after trailing by three goals. They went on to play Amery in another heated match on Saturday, March 14, and again battled back from a two-goal deficit in the third period to win 6-5, which booked their spot in the championship game on Sunday, March 15.
Marshfield played Blackhawk for the state championship Sunday afternoon and kept it close with a tie game until seven minutes left in the third period. The boys could not hold on, and Marshfield was ultimately defeated 7-3.
