Marshfield Softball Association gears up for season
MARSHFIELD — The Marshfield Softball Association (MSA) will hold its preseason meeting for the summer slow pitch softball season at Five-O-One Sports Bar and Grill, 501 S. Washington Ave., on Monday, March 30.
The women’s league meeting is at 6 p.m., the co-ed team meeting is set for 6:30 p.m., and the men’s league meeting is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
The meetings are for league managers and all those interested in slow pitch softball, including people looking for a team to join.
This year’s Amateur Softball Association (ASA) leagues will begin the week of May 5. Men’s leagues will be played on Tuesdays, and women’s and co-ed leagues will be on Thursdays.
To play in the adult ASA-sanctioned slow pitch leagues, players must be at least 16 years old, and if they play softball or baseball at the WIAA level, the players’ season must be completed before they can participate in the MSA season.
For more information or if a representative of your team will not be able to attend the meeting, call Gordie Adler at 715-384-9176.
MSA also has an ASA-sanctioned girls fast pitch program for girls in kindergarten through 12th grade for the entire central Wisconsin area.
Kindergarten and first-grade girls will participate in a tee-ball league.
To sign a girl up for the fast pitch program, call John Donahue at 715-864-2979.
