CHIPPEWA FALLS — The Marshfield boys basketball team pulled off a big upset on the road, knocking off No. 2 seed Chippewa Falls 57-34 in a WIAA Division 1 regional semifinal Friday night at Chippewa Falls High School.
The Tigers snap a four-game losing streak and avenge a loss to Chippewa Falls earlier this season. Marshfield lost at home to the Cardinals 64-48 back on Dec. 30.
No. 7 seed Marshfield (7-16) will play at No. 6 Hudson (10-13) in a regional final at 7 p.m. Saturday. Hudson started the season 5-0 but fell on hard times, losing 10 of its final 12 games before upending D.C. Everest on the road 59-55 in overtime Friday night.
Saturday’s game will be broadcast on WDLB-AM 1450 and wdlbwosq.com.
Statistics from Friday’s game were not provided.
