Marshfield third at 2015 Great Northern Conference Gymnastics Meet

MINOCQUA — Marshfield senior Olivia Tierney won the floor exercise and finished in the top six in the other three events to finish third in the all-around at the Great Northern Conference Gymnastics Meet last Saturday at Lakeland High School.

Tierney won the floor with a score of 9.225, was third in the balance beam (9.275), fifth in the uneven bars (8.175) and sixth in the vault (9.0) for the Tigers. Her all-around score was 35.675 as she finished third behind Stevens Point sophomore Kali Schierl (36.55) and Wisconsin Rapids freshman Tia Dorshorst (36.25).

Marshfield ended up third in the team standings in the Large Division with 128.25 points. Stevens Point won with a score of 139.35, and Ashland came in second with a score of 131.95.

Marshfield will compete at the WIAA Division 1 sectional Saturday at Stevens Point. The top two teams will compete in the team meet on March 6, and the top five finishers in each of the four events and the all-around will compete in the individual meet on March 7 at the 2015 WIAA State Gymnastics at Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School.
