Marshfield boys hockey rallies to beat Altoona in WIAA regional semifinal

MARSHFIELD — Zach Leggon scored three goals, two in the decisive third period, to lead Marshfield to a 4-3 victory over Altoona in a WIAA boys hockey regional semifinal Tuesday night at the Marshfield Youth Ice Arena.
Marshfield (8-15-1) advances to a regional final at Eau Claire Memorial (16-5-3) on Thursday at 6 p.m.
Leggon scored in the first period to put the Tigers up 1-0.
Altoona surged ahead 2-1 before the Tigers came back.
Leggon scored at the 7:43 mark of the third period to tie it and added another goal three minutes later to put Marshfield on top.
Altoona’s Gabe Martin tied the game 3-3 with a goal with 2:57 to go before Marshfield pulled ahead for good.
Jacob Draves scored on an assist from Ben Bremer with 1:42 left in regulation to win it for the Tigers.
Haydon Roy-Peterson had 36 saves in goal for Marshfield.
