Auburndale girls basketball snags nonconference win at Iola-Scandinavia

IOLA – The Auburndale girls basketball team pulled away with a big third quarter and defeated Iola-Scandinavia 47-36 in a nonconference game Saturday afternoon at Iola-Scandinavia High School.
The Apaches led 17-14 at halftime before outscoring I-S 17-6 in the third quarter to open up a double-digit lead and they held on from there.
Auburndale improves to 16-4 and will wrap up its regular-season schedule with a nonconference game against Athens at home on Tuesday and a Marawood South-North crossover game on Friday against an opponent to be determined. The WIAA playoffs start Feb. 24.
