Auburndale boys basketball dominates Northland Lutheran

AUBURNDALE – Auburndale got off to a quick start and never let up, pounding Northland Lutheran 63-29 in a Marawood Conference South Division boys basketball game Friday night at Auburndale High School.

Auburndale led 20-10 after the first quarter and 34-18 by halftime on its way to the big victory.

The Apaches improve to 12-6 overall and 7-4 in the Marawood South. Northland Lutheran is now 3-17 and 0-11 in the conference.

Alex Marth was 9 of 12 shooting and finished with 18 points to lead Auburndale. Matt Nikolay added 14 points and six steals, and Josh VanSchoick had 10 points and five rebounds for the Apaches.

Auburndale’s next game is a nonconference matchup at Nekoosa on Tuesday.
