Auburndale girls basketball loses at Marathon

MARATHON — The Auburndale girls basketball team was eliminated from contention for the Marawood Conference South Division championship after losing 47-38 at Marathon on Friday night.
Marathon clinches at least a share of the Marawood South title, improving to 10-1 in the conference (17-1 overall) with the victory. The Raiders play at Stratford next Thursday in their final Marawood South game. They own a one-game lead over Wisconsin Rapids Assumption, which hosts Pittsville in its finale next Thursday.
Auburndale falls to 14-4 overall and 8-3 in the Marawood South. The Apaches host Northland Lutheran on Thursday.
