First-place Loyal routs Spencer girls basketball

LOYAL — Loyal outscored Spencer by 23 points in the first half and cruised to a 62-20 defeat of the Rockets in Cloverbelt Conference East Division girls basketball action Tuesday night at Loyal High School.

The Greyhounds improve to 15-2 overall and remain undefeated at 12-0 in the Cloverbelt East. Loyal holds a 1½ game lead over Owen-Withee in the standings with four games to play in the conference season as it looks for its first-ever Cloverbelt East championship.

Sophomore Karsyn Rueth had 16 points and nine rebounds to pace the Greyhounds.

Nadia King led Spencer (4-11, 4-9 Cloverbelt East) with six points and three steals.

Spencer’s next game is Thursday at home against Gilman.
