Columbus Catholic girls basketball doubles up Granton

MARSHFIELD — Jess Trad and Abby Baierl each scored 17 points to lead the Marshfield Columbus Catholic girls basketball team to its fourth win in its last five games as it defeated Granton 54-27 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Tuesday night at Columbus Catholic High School.

Baierl had 13 points, including three 3-pointers, and Trad hit two shots from long range in the first half as the Dons (10-7, 7-5 Cloverbelt East) built a 27-12 halftime lead.

After the Dons held a small 9-6 advantage in the third quarter, Columbus outscored Granton (0-14, 0-13 Cloverbelt East) 18-9 in the fourth quarter to win easily.

Columbus returns to action Thursday at Owen-Withee. The game will be broadcast on WOSQ-FM 92.3 and wdlbwosq.com at 7:30 p.m.
