Spencer wrestlers beat Abbotsford/Colby to wrap up Cloverbelt Conference regular-season title

SPENCER – The Spencer wrestling team wrapped up an undefeated Cloverbelt Conference dual meet schedule with a resounding 75-0 victory over Abbotsford/Colby on Thursday night at Spencer High School.

The Rockets won six matches by pin and six more by forfeit to win the match and finish the Cloverbelt regular season with a 6-0 record. The conference championship is the first for Spencer since 1999.

Tim Bauer (132 pounds), Daniel Wilke (138), Deitrik Ellis (152), Zach Schneider (170), Hunter Luepke (182) and Dominick Wichlacz (106) won by pin for the Rockets.

Hunter Hildebrandt added a 4-2 decision over Collin Stuttgen at 160 pounds for Spencer.

The Rockets will compete at the 2015 Cloverbelt Conference Tournament on Feb. 7 at Abbotsford.

170: Zach Schneider (S) pinned Brock Halopka in 3:17.
182: Hunter Luepke (S) pinned Dylan Leffel in 3:50.
195: Tyler Voda (S) won by forfeit.
220: Travis Stelson (S) won by forfeit.
285: Double forfeit.
106: Dominick Wichlacz (S) pinned Rodrigo Cruz in 5:23.
113: Bryce Shaw (S) won by forfeit.
120: Caden Schillinger (S) won by forfeit.
126: Austin Post (S) won by forfeit.
