Badger State Games come to Marshfield
MARSHFIELD — The city of Marshfield will host a snowshoeing event for the Winter Badger State Games on Saturday, Jan. 24, at RiverEdge Golf Course.
Participants can compete in a 5K, 10K, or four-person relay. Registration on the day of the event is available and open from 9-11 a.m. Online pre-registration is recommended at a reduced cost.
A free 400-meter youth race/scramble for ages 10 and younger will take place at 11:30 a.m. Snowshoes are not required. Medals will be awarded for all 400-meter race participants, and registration is free.
This will be the first Badger State Games event hosted in the Marshfield area. The Marshfield Convention and Visitors Bureau worked with the Badger State Games, Central Wisconsin Sports Authority, and Wausau Central Wisconsin Convention and Visitors Bureau to bring the games to Marshfield.
RiverEdge Golf Course and other local volunteers have been instrumental in making this event happen in Marshfield. Food and refreshments as well as room for spectators will be available on race day. Participants are invited to bring their families.
