Marshfield boys hockey edges Wausau East for first WVC victory

WAUSAU — The Marshfield boys hockey team grabbed its first Wisconsin Valley Conference victory of the season, edging Wausau East 5-4 on Tuesday night at Marathon Park.
The Tigers are now 5-10 overall and 1-5 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference. East drops to 6-7-1 and 1-5 in the conference.
Jacob Draves and Bryce Gadke each scored twice, and Ray McConnel added another goal for the Tigers.
Draves’ pair of goals proved to be the game-winners, helping Marshfield break a 3-3 tie in the third period.
McConnel and Zack Schmidt each had two assists for the Tigers.
Marshfield’s next game is Thursday at home against Wausau West.
