Nell Eicthen nets hat trick in first period to lift Marshfield girls hockey past Medford

MARSHFIELD – Nell Eichten scored three times in the first period to push the Marshfield girls hockey team out to an early lead and a 5-1 victory over Medford on Friday night at the Marshfield Ice Arena.

Eichten scored three goals 6 minutes apart to put the Tigers out to a 3-0 lead early.

Lexi Dupee and Morgan Larson added goals in the third period for Marshfield, which evens its record at 3-3 in the Great Northern Conference and improves to 4-6 overall.

Medford is now 1-7-1 and 0-6 in the GNC.

Marshfield outshot Medford 41-11. Alexis Straughan made 10 saves for the Tigers.

Marshfield is back in action Saturday at 12:30 p.m. with a nonconference game at home against Stoughton.
