Unbeaten Stevens Point beats Marshfield boys swim team in WVC dual

MARSHFIELD — Stevens Point improved to 4-0, and Marshfield dropped to 0-4 in Wisconsin Valley Conference dual meets this season after the Panthers won 95-67 on Thursday night at Marshfield High School.

Brian Engel won the 100 backstroke (1:06.83), Mason Metz took first in the 100 breaststroke (1:24.86), and the 400 freestyle relay team of Ben Donahue, Michael Kruse, Alec Brenner, and Engel (4:07.33) won for Marshfield.

Engel was second in the 50 freestyle (24.88), Calden Wojt took second in the 100 backstroke (1:08.65), and Nick North was second in the 100 breaststroke (1:30.540) for the Tigers. Marshfield 200 medley and 400 freestyle relay teams also took second.

Marshfield will compete at the Santa Claus Invite at Eau Claire North on Saturday and will have its annual Alumni Meet on Monday.

All Marshfield alumni are invited to attend. There is no registration required. Seeding and relays will be formed before the meet. Warm-ups start at 4:30 p.m. with the meet to begin at 6 p.m. at Marshfield High School.
