Spencer girls basketball outlasts Gilman for second win of the season

GILMAN — Spencer held Gilman to just nine points in the first half and earned a hard-fought 29-23 win in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division girls basketball game Thursday night at Gilman High School.

Spencer led 18-9 at halftime and held on in the second half to win its second game of the season.

Kallie Reckner had seven points, and Melissa Lehman had six for Spencer (2-5, 2-4 Cloverbelt East). Gilman falls to 1-6 and 0-5 in the conference.

Spencer’s next game is not until Jan. 8 when it hosts Neillsville.
